@LetMeStart by Saying That I’m Not Just on Facebook

Here’s the deal: Facebook made some changes.

These changes mean that I’m not getting all the status updates by my favorite Facebook pages, and you’re most likely not getting all of yours.

Which translates to: You aren’t getting all my Facebook posts in your Timeline feed.

This annoys me more than a Granny Panty wedgie in too-tight jeans.

But! There is good news!

I can be found elsewhere.

Everything I say on Facebook,

Like blog post links or shopping tips,

frustrations and sweetness,

notifications of when I’ve written a Guest Post,

other bloggers’ posts that I love, or my own insightful ponderings,

humorous eCards or loving anecdotes about my children,

pleasant surprises,

(I’m on this list!)

and not-so-pleasant ones

can all be found on Twitter at @LetMeStart.

I’m over there. All the time. And I like to hear from you.

So if it seems like I fell off the Facebook grid, I apologize.

(Even though it’s totally not my fault, FACEBOOK.)

Yes, I’ve been busy. But I swear I’m still there. So if you can’t find me?

I’m always right under your nose on Twitter.

Come on by, any time.

I know. It’s very disappointing, as I really like Facebook for the page interaction and now I feel like no one even knows that I’m on there. Considering I’m not all over the place like you, I fear I’ll just quietly slip through the cracks…

Oh well. At least I can still stalk you!

    • I never used the “personal” side of my Facebook Fan Page account, but now I have to or else I miss everyone’s everything. SO. ANNOYING.
I don’t think you’ll slip through any cracks. I still stalk the shit out of you.

  2. Hold up. I’m supposed to throw those popsicles AWAY? This is why the Mommy Wars exist. Bitches like you, judging kitten-anus-lovers like me. I’m offended and will no longer be reading your smut (on Facebook, because I’m a Twitter whore too.) Call me. I love you.

  3. It’s so friggin’ frustrating, this Facebook issue — especially to a budding new blogger like myself. That said, I think I get most of your updates on Facebook. But either way, I’m also following you on Twitter.

Thank you for saying that the hours from dinnertime to bedtime make you want to put your head through a wall. I’m not the only one!!! Why is that? Love your posts/tweets, etc.

  7. Yeah, my head about fell through the table when I found out about the whole thing.I haven’t heard of one blogger or author who’s going to pay for any of that. The only people who might are big companies and celebrities??? Till then, like you, I’ll be hangin’ out on the Twitter. Still using FB, but not putting much stalk in the whole thing…unfortunate.

  8. This whole Facebook thing is annoying the crap out of me. There is another solution – Google +. It’s much better now than when it first started, very much like Facebook, and has the added bonus of being linked to Google Search so you rank higher in search results.

I’ve written some tutorials on G+ for other sites which I will update and put on my blog today, because I think this is the only way people are going to get the interaction like Facebook.

  10. I’ve been researching this since I started hearing the flap and here’s the story:
FB is NOT limiting your reach in order to get you to pay for it. (I don’t mean to sound angry, just emphatic). I wrote all about it for work, because some of our clients were also freaking out about being hidden. Your fans have NEVER been able to see all of your posts. Check out this article: http://www.addicted2decorating.com/bloggers-facebook-is-not-out-to-sabotage-you.html

Bottom line: you post good shit, and they will come.

    • Thanks for that, Brenna – a good read.

The way it has been affecting me, is that I use the Fan Page side of FB most. For some reason, my friends like you & the others you know aren’t showing in my feed. I’m getting stuff I don’t ever reply to/like/click. It makes no sense.
So now I have to switch back and forth between my Fan Page & the personal page (which you know I never wanted to use), because I can only really keep up with you all over there.

The percentages don’t bother me, honestly. But the accessibility of my friends does.
