I hired a new babysitter for the summer.
I met her in the grocery store.
She was a tall redhead, and we hit it off right away.
Even my kids took to her quickly.
…and I didn’t have to take my chances with Craigslist. Woo hoo!
Why RedBox is the best babysitter in town:
1. She’s cheap.
2. Everyone knows redheads are more fun.
3. She’s always available.
4. Even her friends – who all happen to look exactly like her – are just as reliable.
5. She’s a fabulous storyteller.
6. I wouldn’t mind at all if my husband met up with her alone one night. I’d actually kind of appreciate it.
7. She doesn’t mind if I return later than promised.
8. She doesn’t use my internet, phone, or Pay-Per-View cable channels.
9. She has the ability to shut my kids up for hours at a time.
Sure, I may not be able to put my kids in camp all summer long…but with my new babysitter? This summer home alone with 2 kids might not be so bad after all.
Unlike most babysitters I know, this one is always on time!

Love that! My sitter is the “play next episode” button for shows like Mary Tyler Moore and Psych. My kid is 11. She loves it.
OnDemand is a beautiful, beautiful thing. Pretty sure he’s my babysitter’s cousin.
Hilarious. Why didn’t I think of that? Maybe b/c I never heard of red box. Instead I just wasted my kids’ college tuition on camp.
I recently discovered it. Movies are about $1 a day. I love her.
My babysitter crapped out on me damn it when my daughter melted and declared that television was ‘too stressful’. (Sadly, this is true. It’s very cool that she’s aware of her trigger. It’s very annoying that it’s something that would entertain her brother.)

She also has a blue-haired sister: Blockbuster Express. She’s a little more difficult to find but she is out there. Both have been babysitting for me for years.

Oh, I must also add youtube. My daughter has been entertained for hours learning how to make things out of duct tape and how to braid hair. This does require supplies, but I make Man Figure go to the store.
