I was ordered to find stuff that made me laugh this week.
It’s a tough job, but someone’s gotta do it.
My task was to select my 5 favorite posts of the 60 linked up during last week’s Finding the Funny, a weekly good time hosted by My Life and Kids Blog & Kelley’s Break Room. I think you’ll like what I chose. So get readin’ before I get all gangsta on yo ass.
My 5 Favorite Finding the Funny Posts from last week:
1. Forget the SAT, LSAT, and GMAT: Take My Parenting Test by Outlaw Mama
Ten questions that parents should be able to answer. I hope that doesn’t apply to me, because I think I failed it. Just ask my kids.
Also: kudos to Outlaw Mama for being a BlogHer’12 Voice of the Year!
Find her on Facebook & Twitter.
2. To Their Own Devices by Paige Kellerman
Paige needs to get laundry folded. Her twins don’t give a shit. And so begin the mysterious happenings around the house.
You will love Paige. Find her on Facebook & Twitter before she gives birth again and can’t remember her passwords.
3. Well sure, What 8-year-old doesn’t want his very own tuba? by Jeff Vrabel
The experience of his son choosing an instrument has thrown Jeff for a $2,000 loop. But gosh darn it all, he’s not gonna lose his sense of humor over it.
Stalk Jeff on Twitter. NOW.
4. Dude vs Nature by Dude of the House
First time I’ve ever read him, and he had me laughing the entire time. Actually LOLing.
Dude can be found not camping on Facebook & Twitter.
5. Breaking up With Adele by The Fordeville Diaries
Freshly-suburbanite Kim made a pie chart I can absolutely relate to. I may have snorted coffee while reading it.
Get more of her on Facebook & Twitter.
And because I can’t stop there…Honorable Mention goes to:
HM#1. 50 Shades of Grey Book Review by People I Want to Punch in the Throat
Her disclosure alone made me laugh. Then the review? Probably better than actually reading the book itself.
If you live under a rock and don’t know Jen, she’s all a-Facebook & a-Twitter, and I’ll be hunting down this BlogHer Voice of the Year Honoree in NYC this August. Bam!
HM#2. Are You Mom Enough to Shut Up? by Ninja Mom
Her Time Magazine cover spoof on NickMom blew up the interewbs & she has some thoughts on it. Funny, interesting thoughts.
She’s just as ninja on Facebook & Twitter.
HM#3. 5 Ways to Keep Milo From Eating the Dwarf Hamster by Old Dog New Tits
Her kid made a case for getting a dwarf hamster. Then she bats it down, one by one.
See more on Facebook & Twitter.
HM#4. Pairing an Adult Beverage With Your Kid’s Meal on Quirk Books
I think my favorite combo is the Mac & Cheese one. Yum.
Also on Facebook & Twitter.
If any of these made you laugh, show some love by sharing their posts with your peeps & stalk them politely. Heck, even tell them I sent you. Tell ‘em I said hi.
If you have any funny posts you’d like to share – old or new – get thee to the Finding the Funny linky every Wednesday. Or just come by for a good read.
Why not head there RIGHT NOW?
I’ll be there. You’ve been warned.

Thanks for including me in your picks! Now you know to look out for me on the Jersey roads if you see an erratic car under the influence of Adele.

I loved that one, too, Kim. And, the other Kim. Whoa. Is this and alternate univesrse. I need to lay down. Who am I talking to? *trippy wide eyes*
Ninja Mom recently posted..Daddy Has a Gun and Other Perks of Fatherhood.

Kim, if you ever see a large black SUV with a weeping giant blonde inside, that’s just me trying to turn off Someone Like You. *sniff*
Awesome picks! Love the bonus HMs too–lots of snort-worthy material to make a Wed.

It was tough to narrow down to this, lots of good stuff to read. I like a good LOL.
Damn it Kim, I was checking in with you to see if YOU knew what my passwords were. I guess it’s back to writing reminders in pudding on my walls. Thanks so much for picking me! This makes my Wednesday, mostly because my kid’s sitting on me and smells like poop.

Try tomato sauce instead of pudding. Less likely to get licked off.
Thanks for sharing the selected chuckles. Now I am gonna have a great dinner then I will finish them ‘one by one’.

It’s a good time, lemme tell ya. Enjoy!
Thanks so much for including me. Just a quick edit: I am only an honoree for VOTY, not a reader. I’m hoping to read at Open Mic night, though. Maybe I’ll read this one.

I hope to read at open mic night, too. Crossing my fingers…
I made the edit, but still think you deserve mad kudos about VOTY. Not the granola bar (though they are delicious), actual accolades.
Honestly, I loved your book review. I see a career in writing book jackets in your future.
I will never read 50 shades. But I loved that review. And I TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY failed the parenting test.
Jester Queen recently posted..An invigorating afternoon
I never had a chance with that test. Big fat F.
Thanks for enjoying. YOu did a great job finding the funny!
Christie, that was so good. I failed miserably, but still. Good times.
Oh, man, my sides hurt! The pie chart on Adele was the best! Also, the boy wanting to play the TUBA… I remember my daughter becoming a drummer, and that sucks for a single mom who does the lugging, but what the hell? She was playing Krupa at age nine. These were great blogs and I left comments at all I visited, so thanks! Peace, Amy

Thanks for showing them the love! Nothing makes me happier than putting a spotlight on writers/bloggers who deserve it.
Oh my gosh I didn’t even say thanks for this last week. My mother would be horrified at the son she raised, in the years she was not in prison. Please to keep up the good work here
I was JUST about to call your mom…lucky you stopped by today, Mister!
You make me laugh and I had to make sure people know. So you keep up the good work, too.
