In 4 days, school is over.
It’s gonna be a long summer.

Finally something was under the correct sign in Target this week.
At least I only 3 more months to go…

Oh my LORD I just SOLed (snorted out loud). That is awesome.
Geez, you have 4 more days? We only have 2.5 – including today. *whining and stamping my feet*

I’m so glad that was just a snort. The other “s” that came to mind was quite worrisome.
HA! Clever, clever lady. Thanks for the Monday morning laugh (that I so desperately needed).

You’re welcome!
Oh I hate summer vacation. My kids are so much happier on a stable schedule. We’ve been out since the end of may. I join your sobbing.

My kids have always thrived on a schedule. And I loathe having to make a summer schedule, because I am cranky and want to do my own stuff. Ahhh…motherhood…it’s so damned grown-up.
How did you even figure that out?? Soooo perfect!!! Target should be a sponsor!! Wouldn’t that be nice?
I parked her there, went for my Tylenol, looked up, saw the sign, laughed out loud, grabbed my phone, took a pic…viola! Sometimes the Universe just hands me a piece of funny when I’m pissed off at Target, shopping with a nut job.
That is awesome on many levels. But not awesome that school is almost out. We end on Thursday as well. It’s this time of year that makes me think year round schools are on to something.

So many people are asking me what I’m doing this summer, and all I can think is “try to survive”.
I love year-round school. It’s terrific. The kids are on for 9 weeks, off for anywhere from 3-5 weeks (depends on how the holiday weeks fall) and then right back to it. Everyone gets the two weeks at Christmas and one week at July 4, the latter is grade-change. My kids don’t lose nearly as much information, they spend less time reviewing, and we get to take terrific vacations at off-times of year. Like we went to Disney in March — FABULOUS weather, not too hot, and no long lines! Went to New England in September — everyone else is back in school, no major leaf-peepers in midweek. One year we went to the beach in September. Still *really* warm here and the beach wasn’t crowded. I love it
Lovelovelove it.
And now I am totally jealous of you.
Oh my shit, that’s FUNNY!

And accurate.
Oh – that made me laugh out loud! I get it completely. We’re only in our first week of school and I’m doubting whether or not my oldest and I are going to survive a summer of spending every day with each other.

The more my kids and I sit around staring at each other, the more we decide to want to kill each other. I better find a way to stay busy, or I may get taken down by a 5yo in ponytails.
We’ve been out for a month. It doesn’t get any better. You just have to push through the crazy until school starts back.

I’ll keep my eye on the ball. The shiny, beautiful, September ball.
That image made me laugh! I hope you survive it….

Me too, kid. Me, too.
Bwahaha – perfecto! That would so be me, if I were brave enough to leave the house with my kids.
I’m not sure if I’m brave, insane, or simply desperate.
Holy cow- that is hysterical!! Feel free to come link this up! Too funny!

Perfect photo! It’s stuff like this that really pushes me toward a smartphone. I’m cheap and I hate talking on the phone, so I use next to no minutes and just have a cheap pre-paid. I just can’t justify the monthly cost of an iPhone but I covet the camera, easy social media aspect of it. I NEED it for my blog right?
Good luck this summer!

My dear, I have an Android with a sliding keypad because touchscreen-only iPhones give me the shakes. I get very nervous & stumble with those fancy things.
But…yes. You need an upgrade. Oh, the things you’d photograph if you knew you could!
And weighing in from the other side of this scene: the teacher’s feelings about summer vacation? WHOOOOOO HOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOO.

If you get bored from all that “whoo-hoo”ing, I have a couple kids you can take care of this summer.
(I’m scowling at you, but really I am also happy for you.)
You are so funny! I love that you thought to take that picture near that sign and then drew an arrow to your daughter. Ha!
(Thanks for linking this up to #findingthefunny a couple of weeks ago! Sorry I am such a loser and just now reading it.)
When I turned around and saw where she was sitting, it was too perfect to pass up.
No worries about coming late – you’re ALWAYS invited.
